At The Retreat, our technique for healing has its foundation in a belief of holistic healing – or the healing of the body, mind, and soul instead of merely focusing on one problem. In this philosophy, we provide a variety of treatment plans depending on the specific needs and preferences of each person. We offer individual professional counseling, or one-on-one sessions with a professional counselor. This allows the center of the discussion to be focused on that individual resident. The Retreat also provides therapy sessions in a group atmosphere. This is a valuable method because in this environment our residents can see that they are not the only ones experiencing a struggle. They can look to the other residents for understanding, guidance and for examples. Family therapy is another type that is offered at The Retreat. We know that addictions not only severely affect the addicted individual, but addictions can also devastatingly affect the family and loved ones of that individual. These therapies combine together to create a lasting effect, helping our residents find the support and motivation to live and regain their freedom and live a sober and healthy life.
 
The treatment programs at The Retreat can vary anywhere from 28 to 90 days. The length of stay generally depends upon the individual needs and desires of the resident. After initial treatment has ended, aftercare treatment options can then be determined. At Sundance, we know that keeping a supportive environment in which one feels safe is very important to maintaining a drug-free lifestyle; that is why we provide all The Retreat clients with free aftercare for life. The Retreat meetings will always remain open to any previous resident should they have the desire to attend. During the 28 to 90 day stay at The Retreat, the resident will receive our effective and personalized healing programs to fit them specifically. They will be able to join in all counseling and therapy sessions, and also take pleasure in the additional healing qualities of our various activities such as Yoga, Nature Walks, Massage Therapy, or Painting.
